Instinct Software's WP E-Commerce, now with sales tax automation

Instinct Software, makers of WP E-Commerce, have announced the availability of TaxNOW, an automated sales tax solution, for WordPress. The TaxNOW plugin, created by Evolving Office, allows WP E-commerce users to connect to a realtime, online calculation service that will automatically add the correct sales tax amounts to purchases.
WordPress started primarily as a blogging platform. And it still serves that purpose admirably: The blog you’re reading is WordPress-powered. But recent versions have also emerged as a fully capable content management system (CMS). Millions of website owners have chosen WordPress for its power and simple elegance.

E-Commerce has historically been an area where WordPress trailed more complex CMS options such as Drupal and Joomla, but this becomes less and less of an issue as WordPress and its horde of plugins matures. WP E-Commerce has been downloaded more than 900,000 times. So obviously, it is already a leading solution for WordPress users who want to add the ability to securely sell products through their website. And now they have the option of automating the collection of sales tax. The plugin requires a service subscription with basic and premium options available. The premium option adds a dashboard, reporting and filing options.
