Sales tax news this week has centered on a 2008 New York Amazon tax law challenged by Amazon.com and Overstock. The online retailers wanted to fight the law in the United States Supreme Court. However, on Cyber Monday, the Court announced that it would not hear the case.
Meanwhile, numerous states are reminding taxpayers that they must pay use tax on online purchases if tax wasn’t collected at the time of sale.
